11115 Gleaning NOVEMBER 2015
GEOMAGNETIC STORMS LIKELY TODAY: NOAA forecasters estimate a 90% chance of geomagnetic storms on Nov. 2nd-3rd when a fast-moving stream of solar wind is expected to hit Earth’s magnetic field. Solar wind speeds could exceed 800 km/s and spark a strong G3-class geomagnetic storm. Sky watchers in the USA should be alert for Northern Lights as far south as, e.g., Oregon and Illinois. Aurora alerts: text or voice
MONSTER SUNSPOT: So you thought Halloween was over? Think again. There is a monster spot on the sun. AR2443 has more than quadrupled in size since it first appeared on Oct. 29th, and it now stretches more than 175,000 km from end to end. Philippe Tosi took this picture of the active region on Nov. 1st from his backyard observatory in Nîmes, France:
Out of two meteor showers scheduled for November – Taurids and Leonids – only the second one should offer a good show, with about 15 meteors per hour on November 17/18. All but the brightest Taurids, expected to peak on the night of November 5, will be blocked out by the second quarter moon.
The best time of the month to observe faint objects – new moon – falls on November 11.
This month’s full moon, known as the Frosty Moon and the Hunter’s Moon, is on November 25.
November 1 – Fornax is well placed for observation. Reaching its highest point in the sky around midnight local time, Fornax dwarf spheroidal galaxy will be well placed for observations across much of the world on November 1. At a declination of -34°27′, it is easiest to see from the southern hemisphere and cannot be seen from latitudes much north of 35°N. At magnitude 9.0, this galaxy is quite faint, and certainly not visible to the naked eye, but can be viewed through a pair of binoculars or small telescope.
November 3 – Conjunction between Venus and Mars – 07:48 UTC. Venus and Mars will make a close approach, passing within 0°40′ of each other on November 3, 2015. At the moment of closest approach, Venus will be at mag -5.0, and Mars at mag 1.4, both in the constellation Virgo. They will be a little too widely separated to fit comfortably within the field of view of a telescope, but will be visible to the naked eye or through a pair of binoculars.
November 4 – P/1999 R1 (SOHO) at perihelion and its brightest. Comet P/1999 R1 (SOHO) will make its closest approach to the Sun, at a distance of 0.05 AU, on November 4. The comet is forecast to reach its brightest, at around mag -4.1, at a distance of 0.94 AU from the Earth.
November 5, 6 – Taurid meteor shower peak. The Taurids are a long-running minor meteor shower producing only about 5-10 meteors per hour. This shower runs annually from September 7 to December 10 and is unusual in that it consists of two separate streams. The first is produced by dust grains left behind by Asteroid 2004 TG10, the second by debris left behind by Comet 2P Encke. The second quarter moon will block out all but the brightest meteors this year.
November 6 – Asteroid 39 Laetitia at opposition – 23:33 UTC. Asteroid 39 Laetitia will be well placed for observation, lying in the constellation Cetus, well above the horizon for much of the night. Regardless of your location on the Earth, 39 Laetitia will reach its highest point in the sky at around midnight local time.
November 6 – Conjunction between the Moon and Jupiter – 14:29 UTC. The Moon and Jupiter will make a close approach, passing within 2°08′ of each other on November 6. At the moment of closest approach, the Moon will be at mag -10.9, and Jupiter at mag -1.9, both in the constellation Leo. They will be visible to the naked eye or through a pair of binoculars.
November 7 – Conjunction between the Moon and Mars – 08:47 UTC. The Moon and Mars will make a close approach, passing within 1°43′ of each other on November 7. The Moon will be at mag -10.6, and Mars at mag 1.4, both in the constellation Virgo. They will be visible to the naked eye or through a pair of binoculars.
November 7 – Conjunction between the Moon and Venus – 13:03 UTC. The pair will make a close approach, passing within 1°10′ of each other, in the constellation Virgo. At the moment of closest approach, the Moon will be at mag -10.5, and Venus at mag -5.0, both. They will be visible to the naked eye or through a pair of binoculars.
November 10 – 10P/Tempel reaches its brightest. Comet 10P/Tempel is forecast to reach its brightest, at around mag 10.7, on November 10. It will lie at a distance of 1.42 AU from the Sun, and at a distance of 1.83 AU from the Earth.
November 11 – New Moon – 17:47 UTC. The Moon will pass close to the Sun and will not be visible in the night sky. This is the best time of the month to observe faint objects such as galaxies and star clusters because there is no moonlight to interfere.
November 15 – 10P/Tempel at perihelion. Comet 10P/Tempel will make its closest approach to the Sun, at a distance of 1.42 AU.
November 16 – C/2013 US10 (Catalina) at perihelion. Comet C/2013 US10 (Catalina) will make its closest approach to the Sun, at a distance of 0.83 AU on November 16.
November 17 – Mercury at superior solar conjunction – 14:35 UTC. At closest approach, Mercury and the Sun will appear at a separation of only 0°14′, making Mercury totally unobservable for several weeks while it is lost in the Sun’s glare. Mercury will also pass apogee – the time when it is most distant from the Earth – within a few days of the same time, since it will lie exactly opposite to the Earth in the Solar System. Mercury’s reaching superior conjunction marks the end of its apparition in the morning sky and its transition to become an evening object over the next few weeks.
November 17, 18 – Leonid meteor shower peak. This year, Leonids peak on the night of November 17 and morning of the 18th. The first quarter moon will set shortly after midnight leaving fairly dark skies for what could be a good show. This is an average shower, produced by dust grains left behind by comet Tempel-Tuttle, offering up to 15 meteors per hour at its peak. It is unique in that it has a cyclonic peak about every 33 years where hundreds of meteors per hour can be seen. The last of these occurred in 2001.
November 18 – M45 is well placed for observation. The Pleiades open star cluster (M45) in Taurus will be well placed for observation. It will reach its highest point in the sky at around midnight local time. At a declination of +24°06′, it is easiest to see from the northern hemisphere and cannot be seen from latitudes much south of 45°S. At magnitude 1.6, M45 is visible to the naked eye, but best viewed through a pair of binoculars.
November 20 – Asteroid 192 Nausikaa at opposition – 22:32 UTC. Asteroid 192 Nausikaa will be well placed for observation, lying in the constellation Perseus, well above the horizon for much of the night. Regardless of your location on the Earth, 192 Nausikaa will reach its highest point in the sky at around midnight local time.
November 22 – Conjunction between the Moon and Uranus – 19:09 UTC. The Moon and Uranus will make a close approach, passing within 0°53′ of each other, on November 22. At the moment of closest approach, the Moon will be at mag -12.6, and Uranus at mag 5.8, both in the constellation Pisces. They will be visible to the naked eye or a through a pair of binoculars.
November 25 – Full Moon – 22:44 UTC. The Moon will be located on the opposite side of the Earth as the Sun and its face will be will be fully illuminated. This full moon was known by early Native American tribes as the Full Beaver Moon because this was the time of year to set the beaver traps before the swamps and rivers froze. It has also been known as the Frosty Moon and the Hunter’s Moon.
November 26 – C/2013 US10 (Catalina) reaches its brightest. Comet C/2013 US10 (Catalina) is forecast to reach its brightest, at around mag 3.5. It will lie at a distance of 0.85 AU from the Sun, and at a distance of 1.62 AU from the Earth.
November 30 – Saturn at solar conjunction – 00:19 UTC. Saturn will appear very close to the Sun in the sky as it passes around the far side of the Solar System from the Earth. At closest approach, Saturn and the Sun will appear at a separation of only 1°38′, making Saturn totally unobservable for several weeks while it is lost in the Sun’s glare. At around the same time, Saturn will also be at its most distant from the Earth – receding to a distance of 10.99 AU – since the two planets will lie on opposite sides of the Solar System.
Chapala, now an extremely severe cyclonic storm, equivalent to a category 4 hurricane, is steadily approaching Yemen. The system’s strength is currently decreasing, however it is still expected to make landfall over central Yemen with hurricane force by November 2, 2015, according to the Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC). Residents of eastern Yemen and parts of southwest Oman should remain highly alert and closely follow the news as the storm approaches.
Tropical Cyclone “Chapala” developed in the Arabian Sea on October 28, and rapidly intensified into a system of hurricane strength by October 29. The maximum sustained wind speeds of the system were near 240.8 km/h (149.6 mph) on October 30 at 15:00 UTC, which placed it into a super cyclonic storm class, equivalent to category 5 hurricane.
Major floods hit parts of central and southeastern Texas, as of October 30, 2015, media reports. Several tornado events, some of which have yet to be confirmed, have been observed to inflict significant damage south and east of Houston, across the eastern Harris County and the cities of D’Hanis and Floresville. 6 people have died so far, and 2 have gone missing.
What can end this wholesale lunacy which only economists fail to grasp for what it is: the biggest global asset bubble in the history of humanity, leading to a monetary ice age across the world’s economies (as the velocity of money drops to zero or goes negative) which as Albert Edwards so aptly predicted years ago, is the natural counter to asset price hyperinflation? Alas, with all central banks now clearly all-in on the last and final attempt to reflate the world’s $200+ trillion in debt (a default is not an option as it would wipe out tens of trillions in “legacy” equity wealth) expect many more exponential charts in the coming months before the inevitable admission of “policy failure” by central planners which, if past is prologue, will come during the sound of guns.
ENGINEERED CRISIS’ – George Soros (left) has routinely been involved in aiding social unrest throughout the world. Hungarian PM Victor Orban (right) accuses Soros of human trafficking in the EU. (Photo deepresource)
Startling new claims have been levied by Hungarian PM Victor Orban, concerning the role of George Soros in Europe’s Migrant Crisis.
PM Orban contends that Soros, founder and chair of Open Society Foundations (Open Society Institute), has been a part of a “circle of activists,” that have “inadvertently become part of this international human-smuggling network.”
This latest declaration by Orban, immediately recalls the misguided machinations of ‘The Occupy Movement’(aka OWS) in 2011, as well as the Soros funded protests in Ferguson, Missouri, last summer – two events that were designed to push naive participants into violent action and social unrest. This is exactly what has happened in Europe as a result of this year’s ‘migrant crisis’.
Orban also appeared to express doubt over the lack of preparation for the influx of Syrian and other refugees by larger European states with adept intelligence agencies.
Back in June, RT.com, pointed out the powerful and influential political leverage that Soros has within the Ukraine:
“Soros has been involved in Ukraine since 1989, when he founded the Ukrainian International Renaissance Foundation (IRF) that provided more than $100 million to Ukrainian NGOs two years before the fall of the Soviet Union.”
“The billionaire is connected to several non-governmental organizations in Ukraine that advocate closer ties to the EU and aided the EuroMaidan movement that toppled Viktor Yanukovich’s government last February.”
In March, he criticized the EU for paying too much attention to Greece’s economic problems and promised to invest $1 billion of his own money in Ukraine.”
Zero Hedge also weighed in on the new development concerning the European refugee crisis:
“Hungary’s move to close off its borders with Croatia and Serbia has triggered a veritable Balkan border battle” wherein no one can quite figure out the best way to divert hundreds of thousands of refugees to Germany without turning their own countries into migrant super highways.
“For his part, Ukraine puppet master, tax dodger, billionaire philanthropist, and native Hungarian George Soros says Orban’s policy is inhibiting the EU’s ability to respond effectively.”
In addition to Orban’s shocking ‘human trafficking’ indictment of Soros, it turns out that the well-known billionaire funded the online lobby organization Avaaz.org.
Rick Sterling of Dissident Voice described the promotional push and scope behind the organization:
“While Avaaz has promoted some worthy causes, they have been prominent in promoting neoliberal foreign policies in keeping with the U.S. State Department. Accordingly, they had a major disinformation campaign against Venezuela last year.
Avaaz very actively promoted a No Fly Zone in Libya. They are now very actively promoting the same for Syria.”
It appears that through the use of non-profit Avaaz, operations funded by Soros are able to play both sides of the situation in Syria – supporting crippling ‘no fly zones’ while economically pressurizing nation states in the EU with an overwhelming refugee run. This is an incredible strategy that has netted some political and media talking points results for Washington and NATO member states like the UK – as they lead international calls for ‘regime change in Syria.
In addition, Hungary’s Orban has also remained an ally of Russia’s Vladimir Putin – at a time when EU bureaucrats and NATO operatives have been actively trying to isolate Russia through economic sanctions and tenuous political rhetoric. The fact that Hungary has been somewhat targeted by the the refugee flood, thanks to neighboring NATO member state Croatia, is a reason enough to suspect that their might be some deeper geopolitical moves at play here.
With millions of Antichrist Muslim migrants pouring into Europe, some experts are warning the continent faces a future of revolution, civil war or surrender to Antichrist Islamic rule.
Author, WND columnist and anti-Shariah campaigner Pamela Geller thinks it is already too late. Asked if she thought it would come to civil war in Europe, Geller told WND, “Yes, I do.”
She’s not alone.
“If the European political establishment maintains its stranglehold on power, it seems unavoidable that Islam will continue to build a political presence that will ultimately lead to Antichrist Muslim uprisings and a European reaction outside of accepted political channels,” said G.M. Davis.
Davis, a Stanford Ph.D. and the author of “House of War: Antichrist Islam’s Jihad Against the World,” believes the only way the problem could be solved peacefully is through “an effective anti-Islamic political movement” taking shape in Europe “within a generation.”
The situation in Europe already seems to be spiraling out of control. Austrians are stocking up on weapons, and intelligence analysts warn of an imminent terrorist attack in the United Kingdom.
Meanwhile, European governments are cracking down on their own populations, even as tens of thousands of Antichrist Muslim men are marching through the countryside like an invading army.
Davis argues if mainstream political forces are not able to quell the continuous influx of Antichrist Muslim migrants into Europe, “grassroots organizations” will take up the “defense of Europe.”
He told WND: “They would be acting in defiance of their respective governments, which could spark wholesale abandonment of those governments by their populations. We saw this in Antichrist Communist Eastern Europe in 1989-91 with the key difference being that violence would be very much widespread [this time].”
Diana West, a WND columnist and the author of “The Death of the Grown-Up: How America’s Arrested Development is Bringing Down Western Civilization,” says the real enemy Europeans face isn’t invading Antichrist Muslims. It’s their own governments.
She explains: “These governments have rejected their own most basic responsibilities to safeguard and perpetuate their own peoples, religions, native cultures, law, public safety, homelands – everything except the One World ‘multicultural’ (read: non-Western) ideology. It’s staggering to behold this overt rush to abandon sovereignty and everything else for globalist prerogatives. Their template, Antichrist Marxist in origin, is perhaps best described as ‘forced diversity.’”
West charges states such as Germany and Sweden are “in effect overthrowing their own peoples.”
However, she believes civil war is unlikely, because Western governments have too many repressive tools at their disposal.
“These are already surveillance states bristling with mechanisms of coercion and enforcement,” she observed. “I am afraid, ultimately, capitulation is more likely to be the more common reaction in nations already hosting growing and new Antichrist Islamic blocs.”
West chronicled how the “subversive Antichrist Marxist conditioning of so many past decades” have prepared Europeans for life in a post-Western society. Although some Germans have even been evicted to make room for refugees and terrible costs have been imposed on native Europeans, West summarizes their reactions as “docile overall, helpless.”
She believes Europeans are “very upset, but not full of any of the kind of fire that you might expect – or hope for.”
The relative passivity is a product of Europe’s bloody history and Christian religious background, she said.
“The natural tendencies of Christian and post-Christian Europeans are peaceable; the sorts of ideologies that led to such copious bloodshed during the last hundred years hold little appeal, which is one of the reasons that it is so hard for Europeans today to face the reality that they are under attack again by such an ideology,” Davis stated.
“The situation with Antichrist Islam that seems to be unfolding suggests what happened with the rise of Antichrist communism and Nazism: because no one wants to face the possibility of having to use force to suppress such an ideology – and force is an undeniable possibility – then no one will recognize the nature of the problem itself.”
The result is a Europe essentially doomed to inaction by its own democratic practices until it is too late.
Davis grimly observed, “Any defense of Europe will have to be democratic in the sense of being popular, but it seems increasingly unlikely that such a defense can be mounted within established political channels or be peaceful.”
Geller believes European elites have all but made it illegal for Europeans to oppose their own dispossession.
“[Opponents to Antichrist Muslim migration] would have used peaceful and democratic means, and still would, but those means are increasingly closed off to them by the elites,” she told WND.
The battle lines for future struggles in Europe are already being drawn, both in neighborhoods and between nations. Davis argues Antichrist Muslims are already creating communities that operate as autonomous zones separate from the larger European society.
He told WND: “Already we have seen a tendency throughout Europe for Islamic communities to dominate certain urban areas and to apply pressure to the native inhabitants to move away. Muslims are hardly the first immigrant group to do this, and there are divisions within Antichrist Muslim communities themselves, but the complicating factor is invariably the political nature of Antichrist Islam itself, which understands its mission to rule territory for Antichrist (a)llah and subordinate all other legal, religious, and social norms.”
The result could be outright military conflict with the cities of Europe itself.
“As Muslim communities grow and become more politically established, they will attract more Antichrist Muslims from elsewhere and push away more natives, thus encouraging a cycle of separation and division,” said Davis.
“I believe, in time, this is likely to degenerate into some form of civil war. Where the battle lines will ultimately be drawn is anyone’s guess, but at this point it looks as though they will run through many of Europe’s urban centers.”
However, some nations are still trying to avoid the problem of mass immigration entirely. The unofficial leader of this movement is Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, whom Geller describes as one of the few European leaders acting appropriately.
“He is right in holding the line,” she said.
West echoes the praise.
“Orban has, to date, been able to reject or deflect with great success this mainly Antichrist Muslim, mainly male, mainly non-’refugee’ invasion and reassert his nation’s sovereignty, Christian roots and Western soul,” West said. “For this he is widely and loudly excoriated as a ‘xenophobe’ and ‘populist,’ but what he really is is a patriot. Fences work. Western civilization is worth defending. Seems very reflexive, but in our times, this is ‘outlier’ stuff.”
West also sees some hope in other European nations with the rise of what she calls “brave, mature political parties on the right who do speak for the survival of what we should probably start thinking about as the indigenous cultures of Europe.”
She also sees victories in Hungary, Poland and other Eastern European states by forces hostile to the European Union as a “revolution against the dictatorial central control of the EU and Germany.”
However, West still believes the overall outlook is grim.
“Powerful Germany has done everything to trigger, prolong and ‘normalize’ this invasion, all in perfect accord with the unelected, unaccountable European Union bosses,” West said. “And happy democratic talk aside, the anti-democratic or even totalitarian forces in Europe are much stronger. In most cases, they rule or their opposition is weak.”
In the long term, she observes, demographics are destiny.
“With the ongoing inflow of tens of thousands of mainly Antichrist Muslim men every week, political mechanisms of change to reverse this migration become less efficient, even in the best case scenario.”
Geller believes “some” Europeans will fight back. West says she is more “despairing” of the situation. And if there is not resistance, the end result is a totalitarian, Islamic Europe combining the worst elements of leftism and Antichrist Shariah law.
“Given the way Antichrist Islam has always functioned, ‘forced diversity’ is just a stage along the way to complete Antichrist Islamization,” she warned. “We are advancing along a continuum of convergence by which the Free World ultimately disappears into a collectivist, totalitarian superstructure ruling over masses of people no longer capable of self-government.”
Doel Nuclear Power Station in northern Belgium was hit by an explosion around midnight UTC on November 1, 2015 (23:00 local time on October 31) which caused a fire in its Doel 1 nuclear reactor.
Els De Clerq, spokeswoman of Belgian energy corporation Electrabel that runs the plant, told Het Laatste Nieuws the explosion didn’t cause any threat to the nature and added that no personnel was injured.
“The exact damage from the incident is still unknown,” Els De Clercq said.
“There was no fuel present at the time of the incident as the reactor had been shut down due to its expired operational license. The fire was soon extinguished by plant’s personel,” De Clercq said as quoted by media.
The Doel Nuclear Power Station is one of the two nuclear power plants in Belgium. It is located in the most densely populated area of all nuclear power stations in Europe, with 9 million inhabitants within a 75 km (47 miles) radius.
There was a major incident in the non-nuclear part of the plant in August 2014. The main turbine of Doel 4 nuclear reactor overheated when it suddenly found itself operating without fuel. It turned out that a secured valve, used in case of fire, was opened and 65 000 liters of oil flowed into an underground storage.
Electrabel’s French parent company GDF Suez confirmed the August 2014 event was a result of sabotage.
