121714 Gleaning Christmas Comet Lovejoy Timed With Messenger Mercury Venus Conjunction Witnessed By Christ’s Jupiter Planet Star Of Bethlehem On Christmas 2014
CHRISTMAS COMET: Is there a cylindrical object under your Christmas tree? Open it now. A small telescope is all you need to see Comet Lovejoy (C/2014 Q2). Discovered just a few months ago by Terry Lovejoy in Australia, the green comet is brightening to naked-eye visibility as it moves into northern skies this holiday season. Italian photographer Rolando Ligustri took this picture on Dec. 15th:
“it’s amazing how this comet is developing and increasing in brightness,” says Ligustri. Indeed, it is brightening faster than experts predicted. Originally the comet was supposed to reach naked-eye visibility in January or February 2015. It may be crossing that threshold now. Reports from the southern hemisphere put the brightness of the comet at magnitude +6.0, similar to the dimmest stars the human eye can see.
On the nights around Christmas, “Comet Q2,” as some are calling it, will glide just south of Sirius, the Dog Star. These finder charts from Sky and Telescope can help you find it. Better yet, if that cylindrical object is a GOTO telescope, just plug in the comet’s coordinates.
EU parliament votes to recognize Palestinian state ‘in principle’, just hours after removing Hamas from terrorism blacklist.
The European Parliament overwhelmingly backed the recognition of a Palestinian state “in principle” on Wednesday, following a series of votes on the issue in EU nations which have angered Israel. Lawmakers approved the motion by 498 votes to 88 with 111 abstentions, although it was a watered down version of an original motion which had urged EU member states to recognize a Palestinian state unconditionally.
The socialist, greens and radical left groups in the European Parliament had wanted an outright call for the recognition of Palestinian statehood. But the centre-right European People’s Party of European Commission chief Jean-Claude Juncker, the leading group in parliament, forced them into a compromise motion linking it to peace talks. “There is no immediate unconditional recognition (of statehood),” EPP chief Manfred Weber said.
But his socialist counterpart Gianni Pittella insisted it was a “historic decision” and a “victory for the whole parliament”.
Several European parliaments have passed motions urging their governments to recognise a Palestinian state in recent weeks in a bid to pressure Israel to relaunch the moribund peace process.
France, Britain, Spain, Ireland and Portugal have all passed votes to that end. Sweden has gone even further, officially recognizing “Palestine” as a state.
No sane person believes that government debt will be reduced. The imaginary recovery only became a painful hardship for EU subjects. Not so for the elites who benefit from the single currency at the expense of their fellow taxpayers. This time around the circumstances may be different.
So what signs to watch as the New Year unfolds? Peter Spence in the Telegraph provides a list of Six triggers that could renew a eurozone crisis in 2015.
Germany loses faith in euro project
Spanish uncertainty reaches breaking point
France calls it a day
Pain of Italian reforms drives country away
Greece turns to left-wing extremes
European Central Bank runs into Berlin Wall
Each of these national concerns that could spark a new run on the EU currency can only accelerate the deficits in governmental budgets and depress economic activity.
The risks of a political implosion in the EU union among conflicting economic and social concerns are mounting. However, the entrenched elites who dominate global commerce control the political decisions. Unruly protests have a long tradition in Europe. As the velocity of money slows, the prospects of earning a livable existence sink. The socialist model has only been sustained by massive sovereign debt financing.
When the European financial press reports on the warning signals of a significant crisis brewing, everyone should take notice. The relative foreign exchange conversion rate for the EURO may not concern most Americans. However, the long history of European political intrigue has always influenced global economic realities. The next chapter of financial crisis may well be written in Brussels.
Schwab ruled that the executive action violated the U.S. Constitution’s guarantee of separation of powers and the separate “take care clause,” which requires the president to faithfully execute laws passed by Congress.
Schwab says he ruled on the executive action issue because he concluded that Juarez-Escobar could be eligible for relief under the executive action.
Government lawyers told Schwab that Juarez-Escobar, who has pleaded guilty to re-entering the country, was not eligible because Obozo’s order does not affect criminal proceedings.
And he saith to me, `Write: Happy [are] they who to the supper of the marriage of the Lamb have been called;’ and he saith to me, `These [are] the true words of God;’
10 and I fell before his feet, to bow before him, and he saith to me, `See — not! fellow servant of thee am I, and of thy brethren, those having the testimony of Jesus; bow before God, for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of the prophecy.’
And I saw one messenger standing in the sun, and he cried, a great voice, saying to all the birds that are flying in mid-heaven, `Come and be gathered together to the supper of the great God,
18 that ye may eat flesh of kings, and flesh of chiefs of thousands, and flesh of strong men, and flesh of horses, and of those sitting on them, and the flesh of all — freemen and servants — both small and great.’
19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, having been gathered together to make war with him who is sitting upon the horse, and with his army;
Antichrist Tribulation WORLD WAR III: Cold War 2.0 – Pentagon Confirms Military Buildup Along Russian Borders For “Peace And Stability”; Russia And The U.S. Locked In High-Stakes Submarine Drone Race; Russia Prepares For, Builds Massive Defense And Super Computer Network!
In the past several days, Western bankers have committed two overt acts of war against Russia, namely, the plunging of oil prices and the recent cutting off of all liquidity to Russian banks. This reminds me of the days before World War II in which the United States followed a doctrine called the eight point plan which was designed to provoke Japan into attacking America so Roosevelt could use this as the excuse to get involved in World War II. As Mark Twain once said, “history doesn’t repeat itself, but it sure does rhyme”.
I have learned that leaves for critical military personnel have been canceled effective on January 1, 2015. The leaves are not uniformly cacanceledcross the breadth of the military. However, I have learned that military leaves for personnel serving in the nuclear command structure and specific elements of the nuclear submarine fleet are now canceled. The implication should be obvious as to what someone as to what the Pentagon believes is coming.
A free-falling Russian rouble on Tuesday prompted fears that the nuclear-armed nation could be entering a deep economic recession with the potential for unrest, as citizens and investors try to get their hands on cash amid crippling international sanctions and sinking oil prices.
The Russian central bank tried to right the ship with a surprisingly large interest rate hike, to 17 per cent, before the nation’s financial markets opened on Tuesday. But it was for naught as the already limping rouble fell another 20 per cent against the US dollar.
Mr Putin has largely been out of public view in recent days as the rouble tanked, but he’s scheduled to address the nation in an end-of-year press conference on Thursday. By then, he’ll know whether the rouble stabilises or whether he’ll be drawn into actions to slow the economic bleed
The question is will Putin swallow his pride and proceed with the next logical step as the Eurasian axis realizes the time to abandon the dollar has long past, that now only actions matter and not words, and joins forces with China in a new monetary union, one which combines the Ruble and the Yuan, and is backed by China’s gold and Russia’s natural resources, as cheap as they may be for the time being… until one or more of the largest middle-east oil exporters experiences a major and “unexpected” geopoolitical incident, one which sends the price of oil soaring right back up.
In its latest effort to counter financial instability – and show its commitment to maintaining order and support for the economy – Russia’s Central Bank (CBR) has unveiled 7 new measures… Ranging from bank recaps to measures aimed at helping manage interest-rate and credit risks, the reaction in the Ruble is positive for now… as perhaps, taking a lesson from the US, The CBR removes Mark-to-Market accounting for various credit instruments.
So enjoy the return of the USDRUB pair… at least until another burst of buying (i.e., RUB shorting) on any news out of Russian – or for whatever reason – sends risk assets, and crude, tumbling all over again at which point the Ruble will once again be halted from retail participation.
After falling for 15 of the last 16 days, the RTS (Russian Stocks) are surging 17% today, extending gains post CBR 7 Measures, the most since October 2008.The Ruble is soaring also – back below 62/USD.
RTS biggest gain since Oct 2008…
We have all noticed the extreme weather events happening with increasing frequency over the last decade, and recently it was reported that the Inuit Elders had issued a warning to NASA and the world that “Their sky has changed!”, stating the “Sun doesn’t rise were it used to, they have longer day light to hunt and the Sun is higher than it used to be and warms up quicker than before,” and the earth has “shifted, wobbled or tilted to the North.”
Some even believe that the pole shift was referenced in portions of the bible, specifically Isaiah 24:1, Job 9:5-6, Revelation 6:14, Isaiah 22:25, Joel 2:31, Isaiah 13:10, Isaiah 13:13, and others.
The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come. – Joel 2:31
For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.- Isaiah 13:10
A rapidly intensifying low-pressure mass, which started in eastern China earlier this week, is causing heavy snow, strong winds and high waves across the northern Japan today. By Wednesday morning, extreme weather events already claimed lives of at least 3 people.
Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) said storms will continue today and through Thursday, especially in Hokkaido and other parts of northern Japan. They warned of blizzards, tidal waves and avalanches and called for people to refrain from going outside.
Typhoon strength winds of around 144 km/h (89 mph) were recorded in Hokkaido on Wednesday. Winds of up to 180 km/h (111 mph) are still possible throughout the region, especially along the western sea boards.
While some areas already experienced over 200 cm (6.5 feet) of snow, snow totals topping 10 – 20 cm (3.9 – 7.8 inches) per hour continue to occur.
December 17, 2014 – CAPE VERDE – The biggest eruption of Cape Verde volcano Pico do Fogo in decades has destroyed two villages and threatens a forest reserve Tuesday, officials said.
Some 1,500 people were forced to abandon their homes before the lava flow reached the villages of Portela and Bangeira on Fogo island in the Atlantic archipelago, fire brigade chief Arlindo Lima said late Monday on national radio.
The Cascadia fault in the Pacific Northwest is locked up, meaning that a massive megathrust earthquake could occur at any time, seismologists are warning.
Stanford scientists have found evidence that sections of the fault responsible for the 9.0 magnitude Tohoku earthquake that devastated northern Japan in 2011 were relieving seismic stress at a gradually accelerating rate for years before the quake.
This “decoupling” process, in which the edges of two tectonic plates that are frictionally locked together slowly became unstuck, transferred stress to adjacent sections that were still locked. As a result, the quake, which was the most powerful ever recorded to hit Japan, may have occurred earlier than it might have otherwise, said Andreas Mavrommatis, a graduate student in Stanford’s School of Earth Sciences.
Shortly after 2 o’clock on the morning of December 16, 1811, the Mississippi River valley was convulsed by an earthquake so severe that it awakened people in cities as distant as Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Norfolk, Virginia. This shock inaugurated what must have been the most frightening sequence of earthquakes ever to occur in the United States. Intermittent strong shaking continued through March 1812 and aftershocks strong enough to be felt occurred through the year 1817. The initial earthquake of December 16 was followed by two other principal shocks, one on January 23, 1812, and the other on February 7, 1812. Judging from newspaper accounts of damage to buildings, the February 7 earthquake was the biggest of the three.
The deadly disease can spread through contaminated meat – and can have an incubation period running into DECADES.
The fatal infection – called scrapie – is very similar to mad cow disease (Creutzfeldt Jakob Disease or CJD) that spread to humans through infected meat and caused a major health scare during the 1990s.
Researchers have now found evidence linking the infectious agent behind scrapie with sporadic CJD (sCJD) – a fatal human disease whose cause was unknown.
Symptoms for sporadic CJD include the loss of intellect and memory, change in personality, blindness and slurred speech.
Scientists have stressed that there is not yet enough data to prove eating mutton or lamb infected with scrapie will lead to sCJD in humans.
But tests on humanised laboratory mice show that scrapie is capable of infecting humans.
The scientists, led by Dr Olivier Andreoletti, from the National Veterinary School of Toulouse in France, wrote in the journal Nature Communications: “Our data on their own do not unequivocally establish a causative link between natural exposure to sheep scrapie and the subsequent appearance of sCJD in humans.
“However, our studies clearly point out the need to consider this possibility.”
Scrapie killed 83 people in the UK during 2012, NHS confirmed.
Just after the first world war The 1918 flu pandemic infected 500 million people across the world and killed between 50 to 100 million of them, three to five percent of the world’s population making it one of the deadliest natural disasters in human history.
The cause was Avian influenza and scientists say it will strike again
Maybe it’s because Ebola is in the news so much this winter and of course the terrible terrorist attacks don’t help and then all the wind rain and snow storms we have been having recently but there is another global threat rearing it’s ugly head again and the media and the Internet have so far ignored.
Avian influenza is once again increasing rapidly as outbreaks are being reported in North America, Europe, Africa and Asia just this month and so far it’s not shown up on the media radar!
Great news: The prices consumers pay dropped 0.3% MoM in November – the biggest deflation since Dec 2008. Of course, The Fed will be in “considerable” panic mode at this data and may choose to crush the hope of so many that rate hikes are coming in mid-2015 as definitive evidence that the US economy is well on the road to recovery. Ex-Food-and-Energy, prices rose 1.7% YoY – slightly missing expectations of +1.8%. Of course, a big driver of this ‘transitory’ disinflation is a 10.5% YoY drop in Gasoline and 6.6% MoM drop in November. Despite this huge drop, and thge promises of various talking heads, airfares rose 1.36% in November (after also rising 2.39% in October) – so much for the benefits to the consumer.
Looking ahead to today’s calendar and away from the CPI print and FOMC meeting we’ve got the BOE minutes as well as various employment prints for the UK as well as the final November CPI reading for the Euro-area and trade data in Spain.
